Madison Area DSA's regularly-scheduled abolition working group meeting. Join us as we work towards making Dane County, Wisconsin, and the country as a whole more free for us all.
Working Group Info:
The Abolitionist Working Group (AWG) formed out of the work to Derail the Jail and the Doyle Resolution campaigns to stop the jail expansion and decarcerate Dane County. This group is the home in Madison Area DSA for all abolition-related work. We believe that abolition is a key tenet of socialism as prisons and policing are some of the most direct and personal means of state-driven oppression in our current society.

Are you interested in deepening your understanding of socialism? We’d like to invite you to sign up for our inaugural Socialist Night School, an 8 week curriculum where you can learn from chapter leaders about the basics of socialism and how to put socialist ideas into practice. Meetings will start on September 23rd and run every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm at the Labor Temple (with a hybrid option!). All are welcome to attend the Socialist Night School, even if you can’t make every meeting.
